Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared condolences for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
