The Belarusian player concluded the year with an notable 23-3 Grand Slam match record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Consistency

Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and collected a record £11m in tournament winnings.

She earned almost 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
