Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
